Activities both indoors and outdoors during the colder winter months can build memories, strengthen relationships, and just be all out fun with your children.  Here are some ideas for   activities that can be simple, fun and don't have to be expensive.

  • Tubing or Sledding Can Be Fun. There are often good tubing hills around which are safe but exciting. Dress up the kids warmly and head to your favorite hill.
  • Build a Snowman (or woman). Snow creations are only limited by your creativity.
  • Snow Painting. Fill a bottle with a squirting top with water and food coloring and then head outside.  A little imagination and creativity can result in some great works of art.
  • Bake Cookies. Nothing smells quite as nice as cookies baking in the oven. Have a little fun with the kids and take them into the kitchen.

Winter
Activities for Kids

  • Build a birdfeeder. Children love birds, and the idea of making a simple bird feeder can be really engaging.  The feeder can be hung in a tree visible from a window the children can see.
  • Build an indoor fort. It can be as easy as using chairs and blankets creatively.  This fun activity will keep the kids busy for hours.
  • Tell a Great Story. Cuddling under a warm blanket with a great story can be a fun memory making experience.
Don't be discouraged by the weather in finding things to do with your children.  You are bound only by your imagination, and theirs!
