Moultrie County Health Department Covid-19 Vaccine Update

Published On: January 11, 2021

The Moultrie County Health Department will provide COVID-19 vaccinations under the Illinois Department of Public Health guidelines.

Currently, the MCHD is vaccinating Phase 1a* frontline healthcare workers and Emergency Medical Staff who live or work in Moultrie County. Preparation to vaccinate Phase 1b** populations is underway.

The current State of Illinois Mass Vaccination Plan*** identifies the categories of workers and residents to be vaccinated. Ultimately, each county’s ability to move through these phases depends on local resources and vaccine supplies.

The MCHD will announce public COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic dates and location in local newspapers, on our website at, and our Facebook page.

The Moultrie County Health Department greatly appreciates the support and cooperation of our communities. As we proceed through these challenging times, we ask every resident to be patient and to do their part to reduce the spread of COVID-19 in our county:

  • Wear Your Mask
  • Respect Physical Distancing
  • Wash Your Hands frequently
  • Avoid Large Crowds
  • Stay Home if you are ill
  • Get Tested if you are experiencing COVID-19-like symptoms
  • Get a Flu Vaccine to reduce your risk of Influenza

*Phase 1a currently includes Healthcare workers and residents, and personnel in long-term congregatecare facilities where high transmission rates and outbreaks can occur.

**Phase 1b currently is defined as Persons that have been disproportionately affected by COVID-19 and frontline workers with a higher risk of exposure due to inability to perform work duties remotely and proximity to coworkers or the public***
