Professional Support Staff

The following represents a brief description of positions within the MCHD. Please note that each position in the MCHD entails a variety of duties and responsibilities which may or may not be listed.

Professional Support Staff Duties

The Professional Support Staff (PSS) are expected to command and utilize a thorough knowledge of MCHD office programs, services, and processes to support MCHD functions. The PSS typically functions in the front office.

PSS responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  1. Answering telephones and greeting clients.
  2. Assessing client needs and assisting them with information related to MCHD and other county services.
  3. Managing internal communication between the public and MCHD staff.
  4. Scheduling clients and computerized data entry.
  5. Filing and client follow-up as necessary.
  6. Staying up to date on training, filing and record keeping.
  7. Other program support activities in and outside the MCHD office as requested.
  8. Complete all other duties assigned in an accurate, efficient, and timely manner.
  9. Follow all policies and procedures of the MCHD responsibly and professionally.
